Tigers secure Star Import Ty Shaw for 2010
Shaw is a 203cm 105kg power forward who will really compliment the Tigers squad in 2010.
He is no stranger to the SBL having previously played with the Goldfields Giants in 2006 and 2007 (their inaugural premiership season).
Prior to his two years with the Giants, Shaw played with the Cockburn Cougars in 2005 under then Head Coach Shayne Hampel. In the past few SBL off-seasons he has been plying his trade in the European Leagues.
Asked why he targeted Ty Shaw for the Tigers programme, Hampel commented that “it is not just the playing ability that Ty brings to our programme. He is a fantastic person off the court and a wonderful person to have around the Club."
"He has a great basketball brain and work ethic that will hopefully rub off onto our upcoming juniors. This is a real coup to get him. Other clubs were chasing his signature but he has chosen us.” said Hampel.
Shaw will arrive at the club in February.
