Ashley was a member of last year’s WSBL Champions Willetton Tigers where she won the Most Valuable Player in the WSBL Grand Final. For the Tigers Gilmore played 26 games averaging almost 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assist per game.

EPDBA Managing Director, Brett Nazzari had this to say on the signing “Following on from the signing of Liz Cooke, Coach Anthony Fletcher has been able to sign a another quality player in Ashley Gilmore. We look forward to welcoming Ashley to the Club on the completion of her duties with the Perth Lynx and look forward to some sustained success in the Women’s Program.”

Eagles’ Head Coach Anthony Fletcher said “We are very excited to attract a quality player such as Ashley particularly with her championship and WNBL experience. Ashley’s signing will add further depth to a team that showed great improvement in the later half of the 2009 season.”

In 2009 the Lady Eagles showed great improvement, particularly during a late run that saw the Lady Eagles win nine of the last 12 games, just missing out on a finals berth. The late run included wins in a double header Round 16 over 2009 SBL Grand Finalists Willetton Tigers and Mandurah Magic.

Ashley is looking forward to joining the Australian Central Eagles once her commitments with the Perth Lynx have been completed. She is also looking forward to combining with former Perth Lynx and WSBL Veteran Liz Cooke who has also recently signed with the Lady Eagles.
