Athletes in Action Update

The AIA Tour continues to be an excellent opportunity for SBL Coaches and Club Officials to get a first hand look at potential imports for the 2010 SBL Season.

On Friday night AIA had a great hit out with the State Under 20’s. What could have been seen as a one sided scoring affair was actually a first class introduction for many of our States up and coming juniors to the physicality of the game at the next level.

On Monday morning AIA assisted the Perth Wildcats by learning a number of the New Zealand Breakers offences and then running them against the Cats in a 25minute scrimmage at Perry Lakes, a competitive performance by the AIA guys reinforced their status as solid SBL Import level players.

On Tuesday morning at 9.30am AIA will play the Wildcats Squad members on a full 4 x 10 minute game at Perry Lakes, the Wildcats Squad includes contracted players Sam Harris, Marko Deric, Joel Wagner and Jarrad Prior, as well as Lightning point guard Ryan Sofoulis.

AIA then back up that night at 7pm against the State Under 20’s for the second time, again at Perry Lakes, spectators are welcome at both Tuesday games.

Tuesday’s games are the last opportunities to see these players in action before they return to the US on Wednesday.
