Import Meriweather to play in Blitz

The Perth Redbacks have confirmed that their fans will be able to see 2010 SBL Import Jon Meriweather in action at the Pre-Season Blitz from February 26 to March 1 at Ray Owen Sports Centre.

The Redbacks import promises to bring exciting athleticism and shooting accuracy to the tournament, his first official game in Redbacks colours.

Merrweather is just one piece of the Redbacks 2010 puzzle with Wildcats development players Jarrad Prior & Joel Wagner also set to suit up ahead of the Wildcats Grand Final series beginning on March 5. The Redbacks other prize recruit, NBL Rookie of the Year favourite Jesse Wagstaff will not be suiting up for the tournament due to Wildcats commitments.

The Blitz will feature many of the league's best players and many teams will unveil their prize recruits ahead of the first week of the season on March 12.

Entry into the tournament is just $6 for a full day of basketball action with this being the only chance for fans to see every SBL team in the same building.

Please note due to parking, entry on Gladys Road will be denied for basketball parking, please use the entry off Grove Road at the rear of the Stadium. Basketball WA recommends all teams and spectators should car pool where possible to avoid congestion at the Stadium.
