Redbacks endeavour to break drought

The Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks’ men’s State Basketball League team will endeavour to break their drought of wins in Kalgoorlie this weekend.

They will try to reverse their previous 11 straight away losses to the Giants in Saturday night’s game that will be played at the Neils Hansen Basketball Stadium in front of the always parochial Goldfields’ crowd.

Coach David Harris believes that the strong effort displayed against the Hawks in Week Two will be required again this week.

"If we play four-quarters of solid and intense basketball, and maintain the same tough defensive ethic that we did against the Hawks last weekend, we will be able to take the game up to the Giants."

"If we achieve that, hopefully we ca come away with a win."

The Giants have a current season-record of one loss and two wins and sit in 9th place on the ladder, while the Redbacks are in fourth place with two wins and one loss.

The game starts at 7.30PM at the in Brockman Road stadium. It is expected a small number of Redbacks’ supporters will be making the trip. For those who wish to follow the team from home, make sure you check out the Live Stats for a play by play of the game.
