Magic Women split weekend

THE Mandurah Magic women’s team split the results in their double header in round three of the State Basketball League on the weekend.

In the first game on Friday night they were defeated 83-67 by the East Perth Eagles at the Morley Sport and Recreation Centre.

Highest scorers for Mandurah in this game were Kelli Hayward with 24 points and Tarsha Fletcher with 15.

The Eagles led 21-15 at quarter time while both teams scored 17 points in the second quarter.

The home team increased their lead by two points in the third quarter with a 23-21 result and stretched the gap even more in the run home.

On Saturday night the result was much better for Mandurah when they hosted arch-rivals, the Rockingham Flames at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre – winning 73-67.

Mandurah had a more spread out scoring attack in this game with Casey Miholovich hitting 16 points, while Tarsha Fletcher and Tracey Richter claimed 12 each and Rachel Halleen chipped in with 10.
