Clash of the Titans

The Sunday session at the Belmont Oasis will see six championship winning Perth Wildcats go head to head in the matchup of the SBL round.

Less than a month after celebrating the Wollongong victory Redbacks’ players Jesse Wagstaff, Jarrad Prior and Joel Wagner will play East Perth’s Paul Rogers, Sam Harris and 2000 championship player Ben Thompson.

The Eagles, who are sitting in first place after defeating the Eastern Suns on Easter Monday, will play sixth placed Redbacks team who have yet to put a full strength squad on court.

The introduction of Wagstaff, along with another big body in Daniel Maddox from Illinois, has strengthened the Redbacks’ big-man squad.

Wagstaff had a great SBL debut with 31 points and 15 rebounds against a strong Flames frontcourt.

The Redbacks’ Jon Meriweather will be looking to return after missing the last game against the Rockingham Flames due to illness.

The women's game promises to be a tough affair between the Redbacks line-up that includes ex-National players Brooke Hiddlestone and Narelle Henry and the star-studded Eagles team that includes current Perth Lynx players Ashley Gilmore and Sam Norwood.

Tip-off for the women’s game is at 11:00 AM and the men’s game at 1:00 PM.

The bar will be open through the games.
