Week Four PowerPlayer of the Week

Each week thanks to PowerPlay Sports, one Women’s and one Men’s SBL player is awarded the SBL PowerPlayer of the week award. The winner receives a $50 voucher for PowerPlay Sports in Subiaco.

Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks star Brooke Hiddlestone has claimed her second PowePlayer award for her efforts against the Rockingham Flames. Hiddlestone finished with 26 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists against the tough Rockingham front court, leading her side to a 64-56 win.

Others in consideration for the award were Jess Van Schie (Lakeside), Rebecca Mercer (Wanneroo), Samantha Norwood (East Perth), Kate Fielding (Southwest), Michelle Joy (Stirling), Kate Malpass (Willetton), Casey Mihovilovich (Mandurah) & Sherelle Johnson (Rockingham).

Titan Interactive Wolves star Doug Gates claims his first PowerPlayer award, leading his side to an impressive 111-110 overtime win against the reigning Champions, Lakeside Lightning. Gates finished with 32 points and 6 rebounds while making an impressive 10/13 three point attempts.

There were many outstanding performances in Week Four, one standout was Sun City Plumbing Buccaneers import Brian Connolly in the Buccs road trip. Connolly managed 32 points & 7 rebounds (14/20 shooting) against the Hawks, he backed up against the Eastern Suns with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists as his side claimed a thrilling 95-94 win.

Also in consideration for the award were Benjamin Beran (Lakeside), Rhett Della Maddalena (Rockingham), Michael Haney (Goldfields), Ben Purser (Perry Lakes), Tom Jervis (East Perth), Justin Brown (Kalamunda), Johnny Jovine (Southwest), Joe-Alan Tupaea (Stirling), Daniel Johnson (Willetton), Andrew Bowman (Mandurah), Bryce Burch (Cockburn) & Jesse Wagstaff (Perth).
