Friends galore for SBL

The State Basketball League recently hit the world of Social Networking in a bid to grow the profile of the league and connect it's many players, coaches, officials and supporters.

It has proven to be a popular move with over 500 people joining the official SBL Facebook page in just over five days.

Basketball WA Operations Manager CJ Jackson believes the online success of the SBL proves how popular the league has been since it's inception in 1989.

"We have people who regularly follow the SBL from USA, UK, Asia and New Zealand."

"Allowing current and former players and coaches to connect with each other as well as officials and supporters is a great thing for our league."

The new SBL Facebook page is just a continuing sign of the growing popularity of the SBL.

In 2009 the league launched SBL Radio on SportFM 91.3. Each Thursday during the season CJ Jackson and Jason Dattilo preview and review all of the SBL action as well as catch up with players and coaches.

The league continued on from SBL Radio with the launch of SBLtv in 2010 with LMSCtv.com broadcasting one game a week live to the internet. Channel 10 Sports Presenter Lachy Reid and SBL identity Scott Hood join James Broadhurst from LMSC each week to beam the SBL all over the world, free of charge!

The Official SBL website is in it's second year of operation and fans continue to flock to the online home of the SBL in growing numbers. The site has Live Statistics, weekly videos and photos, Game Previews, all of the latest news and much more.

With increasing newspaper and online coverage, you can now connect with the SBL like never before.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
