Week Eight PowerPlayer of the Week

Titan Interactive Wanneroo Wolves star Sebastian Salinas has picked up the PowerPlayer of the Week award for round eight of the men’s State Basketball League.

Salinas beat AND1 Kalamunda Eastern Suns forward Adrian Majstrovich to claim the $50 voucher for PowerPlay Sports in Subiaco.

He led the Wolves to a 121-82 win over Perry Lakes with 39 points and seven rebounds, making 15 of his 23 field goals attempts and four of his five shots from long range.

Salinas has played four games this season and is averaging 28 points and over eight rebounds per game.

Former NBL forward Majstrovich was outstanding in his side’s 110-88 win over Southwest and its 89-98 loss to Perth the next night.

He had a triple-double against the Slammers with 25 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists and backed it up with 36 points and 18 rebounds against the Redbacks.

Brooke Hiddlestone of Southside Mitsubishi Perth Redbacks picked up the women’s PowerPlayer of the Week prize.

Hiddlestone claimed the $50 voucher to PowerPlay Sports with a great performance in Perth’s 84-65 victory over Kalamunda.

The 2009 WSBL MVP was just one assist short of a triple-double, finishing with 22 points and 15 rebounds.

Mandurah Magic’s Casey Mihovilovich was also in contention.

The guard had 13 points and seven boards in its 50-62 loss to Lakeside but led her side to an 88-50 win over Stirling the next night with 33 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and seven steals.
