WSBL Milestones

Mandurah Magic veteran Katie Reed and Australian Central Eagles player Bindi Foote both celebrated SBL milestones during Week Thirteen.

Reed is an SBL veteran having started her career with the Perry Lakes Hawks in 1998, playing 19 games in her debut season.

From her first year in 1998 through to her last year in 2004 with the Hawks, Reed played in an amazing seven consecutive Grand Finals. The Hawks managed to win four of their seven Grand Final appearances in an amazing run.

The Grand Final run was to continue for Reed with the Magic making the 2005 and 2006 Grand Finals where the Magic finished runner-up. They were to again finish just short of that elusive Championship in 2009.

Reed suited up for game number 300 against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns on Saturday night, another chapter in a storied career.

Foote suited up for game number 200 against the Stirling Senators during their Week Twelve Clash with her milestone being presented during their home game last night.

Commencing her SBL career at Wanneroo in 2001, Foote has played ten seasons in the SBL with her last seven being at East Perth.

In 199 games Foote has averaged 6.60 points, 4.87 rebounds and 2.89 rebounds. She has been one of the familiar faces in the Eagles WSBL program through the years and has been a key in the re-building of the program into the current finals bound Eagles.

The State Basketball League congratulates Katie Reed and Bindi Foote on their milestones and wishes them and their teams good luck for the remainder of the 2010 WSBL Season.
