Crawford leads Hawks over Giants (Saturday Wrap)

Perry Lakes Hawks delivered an upset victory with a 108-94 away-win over Goldfield Giants in the men’s State Basketball League.

Peter Crawford led the charge for the Hawks with 35 points for the away side.

Perry Lakes took the lead halfway through the first quarter and didn’t look back, leading for the remainder of the match.

Willetton Tigers defeated Rockingham Flames 94-79, despite a spirited effort from Rockingham who led until early in the third term.

Alex Prince top-scored for Willetton with a game-high 36 points, while Rockingham’s Carlin Hughes (23 points) was the games next best.

Lakeside Lightning accounted for Cockburn Cougars with a 104-82 victory, which ensured Lakeside kept in touch with Willetton and Geraldton at the top of the table.

Cockburn didn’t help themselves with turn-over’s, costly for the home side.

Wanneroo Wolves remained in the eight with a 100-91 win over Mandurah Magic, with Zach Coverstone (23 points) the hero for Wanneroo.

Elsewhere, Geraldton Buccaneers continued its strong form with a convincing 103-81 win over Stirling Senators, with the Buccaneers Ryan Zamroz (37 points) the star.

Adrian Majstrovich led the Eastern Suns to a 118-105 victory, his 55 points dealing the East Perth Eagles finals chances a blow.

In the women’s games, Willetton consolidated top spot with a 75-66 win over second placed Rockingham, Mandurah defeated Wanneroo 73-71, Lakeside beat Cockburn 64-53 and East Perth easily took care of Kalamunda with a 75-49 victory.
