Redbacks gear up for Semis
The women’s team will be playing the Willetton Tigers and the men’s team the Lakeside Lightning.
The semi-finals are played in a best of three-game series format.
The first semi-final games for both Redbacks’ teams will be at the Belmont Oasis Stadium, corner Abernethy Rd and Alexander St Belmont.
Tip-off for the women’s game will be at 6.30PM and the men’s game at 8.30PM.
Redbacks’ spectators are encouraged to come down en-masse to “scream for your team”.
It is recommended that you get to the stadium early as, based on the quarter-final games seating could become extremely limited.
This is also as these are the only semi-final games being played on Friday and many basketball fans from other teams will be attending.
The second-game between the Redbacks’ men’s team and the Lightning will be at the Lakeside Recreation Centre, corner Bibra Drive and Farrington Road North Lake the following Friday 13 August at 7.30PM.
The third game will only be played if required again at the Lakeside Recreation Centre on Saturday 14 August at 6.00PM.
The second game between the Redbacks women’s team and the Tigers will be at the Willetton Basketball Stadium, Burrendah Boulevard Willetton at 7.30PM on Saturday 14 August.
The third game will only be played if required, again at the Willetton Basketball Stadium at midday on Sunday 15 August.
Both Grand Finals are one off games with the Women being played on Friday August 20 and the Men on Saturday August 21.
Both games will be played at the new $40 million WA Basketball Centre in Mt Claremont.
Tickets for both Grand Finals are now on sale through Ticketmaster and can be purchased online or at the Ticketmaster outlets at Challenge Stadium and Arena Joondalup.
The 2009 Grand Finals were both at capacity at Perry Lakes Stadium with a record crowd turning up for the Women’s Grand Final and the Men continuing their run of sell out crowds.
