Redbacks Grand Final tilt

Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks’ men’s and women’s State Basketball League teams both face ‘do or die’ games this weekend to make the Grand Final.

The men’s team goes into their three game semi-final series against Lakeside Lightning one-game down.

As a result they now need to win both remaining games to progress to the Grand Final.

The first of those games is this Friday night (13 August) at 7.30PM at the Lakeside Recreation Centre, corner Farrington Road and Bibra Drive North Lake.

The final semi-final game is only played if required, which Redbacks fans fully believe it will be, again at Lakeside’s venue at 7.30PM the following Saturday (14 August).

Redbacks’ supporters will be able to travel across to this game after watching the women’s team play the Willetton Tigers in their second semi-final game, which tips off at 6.00PM this Saturday (14 August) at the Willetton Basketball Stadium, Burrendah Boulevard Willetton.

The women’s team goes into their three-game semi-final series one game up after their dramatic one-point win last Friday night.

If they win this semi-final game they progress through to the Grand Final.

If they lose, they still get a second-chance to make the Grand Final in the third semi-final game.

This game is only played if required at Willetton at 2.00PM on the Sunday (15 August).

We are calling on all Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks’ spectators to turn up in large numbers to take away the home court advantage from both Lightning and the Tigers.

Based on previous experience you should arrive at the games at least ½ an hour before to guarantee yourself a seat.
