Strong talent shines at development player trial

Chris Pike reviews the Wildcats development player trials on Thursday with Head Coach Rob Beveridge.

The Perth Wildcats' development player trials held on Thursday will be a sign of things to come as coach Rob Beveridge looks to work more closely with the up and coming players of WA.

Beveridge and assistant coaches Shawn Dennis and Andy Stewart invited 16 young hopefuls to the trials on Thursday morning at the WA Basketball Centre as the Wildcats look to not only find its development players for the 2010/11 season, but start building up a group of players to work continually with.

Beveridge's hope is to eventually establish a basketball academy underneath both the Wildcats and West Coast Waves WNBL franchise so that the youngsters can train and work on their games more in order to try and become the 'Cats or Waves players of the future.
