Thomas joins Eagles

The Australian Central East Perth Eagles are delighted to announce the signing of point guard Daniel Thomas.

Thomas, a former student of Pittsburgh University was a key player of the Geraldton Buccaneers in 2010, averaging 16.5 points per game and a team leading 6.5 assists per game.

East Perth assistant coach Matt Muir commented, “We are really excited to have signed a point guard of Daniel’s calibre. He brings leadership and quickness to our young squad and a fantastic looking jump shot which will keep opposing defences on their toes.

Thomas said, “Joining the Eagles is a fantastic homecoming for me as I played some of my best junior years at East Perth. I love the family atmosphere of the club and the work ethic is great from all members of the squad. I hope to bring experience, intensity and a different touch to this team making the game more up tempo and exciting for fans. Along with Balcombe, Jervis and the rest of the guys, this season we will be extremely competitive.”

Thomas joins Eagles veterans Andrew McLennan, John Taylor and Perth Wildcats Squad members Tom Jervis and Jarrad Balcombe to form a core of exciting Australian talent for the upcoming 2011 SBL season.
