New Look SBL Radio starts Tuesday

The ever popular SBL Radio Show will tonight hit the airwaves in its new timeslot of 7:00 – 8:00pm on Tuesday nights.

The new hosts of the weekly radio show will be SBL writer Jacob Kagi and West Coast Waves Head Coach David Herbert.

Kagi is responsible for a lot of the content we see at SBL.asn.au from weekly previews, reviews to game reports and also writes the weekly Sunday Times article. Kagi is no stranger to 91.3 SportFM also hosting Talking Baseball and Perth Heat game broadcasts. His knowledge of the SBL and general media skills will be a strong asset to the team.

Herbert has been in WA since 2008 when he joined Basketball WA as the High Performance Coach/Manager and has quickly established himself as a key basketball identity. In 2010 Herbert signed on as the Head Coach of the Alcohol. Think Again West Coast Waves, bringing with him over five years of WNBL coaching experience.

In his first year in charge, Herbert led the team to its most successful season in a decade, finishing with an 8-14 record, just four games short of a finals berth. Herbert has regularly joined the LMSC commentary team for Wildcats and WNBL games and recently teamed up with 91.3 SportFM co-hosting the Perth Wildcats v Gold Coast Blaze game on Sunday.

Each week the show will bring you all of the weekends results, preview the upcoming round and bring you the latest SBL news and interviews. Interviews this week will be Shayne Hampel & Glenn Clarke, Head Coaches of the defending WSBL & MSBL Champions, the Willetton Tigers.

Wildcats Assistant Coach Shawn Dennis will join Kagi in the co-host chair for the first show with Herbert being in Geraldton on Basketball WA duties. Shawn recently came to Perth in 2010 to join the reigning Champions, the Perth Wildcats.

Make sure you tune in tonight online via perthnow.com.au or turn your frequencies to 91.3. For full details on SportFM visit their website – www.sportfm.com.au.
