Slammers lose key forward, game

Co-captain Trent Worthington went down with a knee injury inside the opening minute of play and the South West Slammers never recovered on Saturday night, demolished to the tune of 33 points by the Buccaneers in Geraldton.

Going into the round three SBL clash at Tip Top Stadium full of hope about notching a breakthrough win, the Slammers had their bubble burst shortly after tip-off when star forward Worthington went down after a collision with teammate Nat Van Dijk.
