Majstrovich, Hooper claim PowerPlayers of the Week

Perth Redbacks recruit Adrian Majstrovich has claimed his first PowerPlayer of the Week award after guiding his team to a 2-0 weekend in impressive style.

Majstrovich received the honours over Wanneroo Wolves forward Greg Hire to claim the Week Three $50 voucher to PowerPlay Sports in Osborne Park.

The former NBL forward starred in his two outings averaging 25 points and 12 rebounds, including a massive 44 point haul against his former side Kalamunda.

Runner-Up Hire was equally impressive in his teams 1-1 weekend averaging 27.5 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists for the round as his side narrowly lost to Cockburn and bounced back to beat East Perth.

Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers guard Jasmine Hooper took out the Women’s award for Week Three after helping keep her sides undefeated start to the season intact.

The West Coast Waves player edged out Week One PowerPlayer of the Week Casey Mihovilovich from Mandurah, who also led her side to two victories.

Hooper was in scintillating form with a ‘triple double’ against the Western Stainless Stirling Senators (12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists). She backed that effort up with 16 points, 4 assists and a massive 21 rebounds in a 14 point victory over the Lakeside Lightning.

Mihovilovich also recorded a ‘triple double’ in her sides four point victory over the Glasscraft Wolves finishing with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. That effort followed her 17 points and 5 assists in a 26 point victory over the Rockingham Flames the night before.
