Mandurah looking for Magic against Tigers (Round Seven WSBL Preview)

Mandurah Magic will be out to continue their good form and cause a major upset when they meet women's State Basketball League leaders Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers in round seven action.

The Magic have moved into the top four with victories in three of their last four outings, but the undefeated Tigers should provide a much tougher test.

It's already the second rematch of the 2009 Grand Final this season and Mandurah will have to improve significantly on their 17-point home loss in round two to beat Willetton.

The Magic also meet South Metropolitan rivals Rockingham Flames, who are still searching for their first win of the season.

All of Rockingham's five losses have been by at least 14 points and it would take a major turnaround to knock off Mandurah on Friday or Lakeside Lightning on Saturday.

The Lightning broke a five-game losing streak with victory against Western Stainless Stirling Senators last week and will be desperate to get their finals hopes back on track.

Lakeside also faces southern suburbs rivals Metropolis Fremantle Cockburn Cougars, who climbed up to sixth spot with a win over Perth Redbacks last week but haven't won consecutive games all season and will desperate to find some consistent form.

Perth's two-game winning streak ended with its loss to Cockburn and they'll be looking to keep touch with the top four with victory over Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

Redbacks front court duo Marita Payne and Brooke Hiddlestone have been in fine form all season and their battle with Suns import Leah Rush will be vital to the outcome.

Kalamunda has fallen to eighth spot with three consecutive losses and faces a tough challenge to turn around its form with a tough doubleheader against the Redbacks and Willetton.

Australian Central East Perth Eagles will be looking to move back into the top four with a victory over the Senators.

Stirling has two more losses than the eighth placed Suns and will have to put together a good run to keep touch with the top eight, but the Eagles have won three of their last four and will start as favourites.

And the Senators will also be the underdog when they face Glasscraft Wanneroo Wolves on Saturday. The Wolves remain in second spot despite last week's overtime loss to Willetton and will be hoping to keep up with the league leaders.
