Flames, Eastern Suns game relocated

The State Basketball League has today relocated the already rescheduled game on Friday 13 May between Rockingham Flames and Kalamunda Eastern Suns to the WA Basketball Centre in Mt Claremont.

The City of Rockingham confirmed with the Rockingham Flames on Monday that the scoring systems at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex would not be fixed in time for Fridays game.

As a result the league has had no option but to relocate the game to ensure that the fixture is played in line with SBL standards.

The game was originally set to be played on Friday 15 April during Week Five SBL action. The game was postponed due to no SBL venues being available to host the fixture.

The ongoing issues at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex are out of the control of the SBL and Rockingham Flames. The Flames, as a venue user, continue to liaise with the City of Rockingham and venue managers YMCA on the scoring issues at the stadium.
