Week Eight PowerPlayers of the Week

Total Connections Perry Lakes Hawks Import Anthony Lee has claimed his second PowerPlayer of the Week award of the season after guiding his team to two big wins over the weekend, downing top-4 sides Wanneroo and Lakeside on Friday and Saturday nights.

Lee received the honours over Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers Forward Robert Kampman to claim the Week Eight $50 voucher to PowerPlay Sports in Osborne Park.

Lee brought his side back from a 23-point deficit against the Wolves to snatch a 107 – 102 victory, scoring 33 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while shooting at 58% from the field, and then backed it up the next night with 28 points and 15 rebounds in the 92 – 85 win over the Lightning.

Runner-Up Kampman was equally impressive in his team’s two wins over Rockingham and East Perth, putting up 36 points and 16 rebounds against the Flames, and 33 points against the Eagles, including a notable six three pointers at 75%.

Perry Lakes received the PowerPlayer of the Week double this week, with Women’s Centre Rosie Tobin claiming her first award of the season after leading her side to two wins over the weekend, defeating Wanneroo and Lakeside.

Tobin edged out Perth Redbacks Forward Brooke Hiddlestone, who also led her side to a win over top-4 side Wanneroo which keeps her team in the top-8.

Tobin was in great form with 18 points and 16 rebounds while shooting at 81% from the field in the 59 – 56 win over the Wolves, and then scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in only 21 minutes in the 68 – 53 win against the Lightning the following night.

Hiddlestone was unlucky to miss out on this week’s award with 25 points and 18 rebounds in the 74 – 68 win over the Wolves on Saturday night.
