Wolfpack on the hunt (Round 10 WSBL Preview)

Glasscraft Wanneroo Wolves will be desperate to get their women's State Basketball League season back on track with a pair of victories in round 10.

The Wolves were in second spot just two weeks ago but have fallen to sixth with losses in four of their last five games and need to get back into form when they face Kalamunda Eastern Suns and Southwest Slammers.

Kalamunda took Wanneroo's spot in the top four last week after extending its winning streak to four games and this round's clash will be important in determining who finishes with home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs.

But the Wolves should start heavy favourites against the Slammers, who have lost their last nine games after losing to previously winless side Rockingham Flames last week.

Australian Central East Perth Eagles could move into the top four if they can upset Total Connections Perry Lakes Hawks on Saturday.

The Eagles have won four of their five home games this season and will be confident of continuing that good form.

But Perry Lakes has won eight of its last nine games and will be desperate to maintain its momentum and keep pace with top side Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers.

And Willetton, which has only lost once this season, should be too good for the struggling Slammers at home on Saturday.

Mandurah Magic are in third spot after winning four of their last five matches and will be looking to consolidate their spot in the top four with a home victory against Perth Redbacks on Saturday.

The Redbacks, who are in eighth spot, have struggled for consistency this season and will be hoping to put together an improved run to ensure they stay in the top eight.

Metropolis Fremantle Cockburn Cougars will be looking to improve on their 2-4 away record and boost their top four hopes with a win against Rockingham on Friday, which will be the first game for the season at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex.

A scoreboard issue forced the Flames to play their first five home games away from the venue.
