Wolves road back into top four (Round 10 WSBL Wrap)

Glasscraft Wanneroo Wolves got back into form with an 87-71 victory against Kalamunda Eastern Suns in round 10 of the women's State Basketball League.

The Wolves had fallen from second spot to sixth with losses in three of their previous four games heading into the round, but their wins against the Suns and Southwest Slammers saw them move back into the top four.

Ainsleigh Sanders and Rebecca Mercer had 24 points each to help Wanneroo past the Suns, who saw their four-game winning streak end despite the best efforts of Leah Rush (19 points and 11 rebounds).

And the Wolves were far too good for the Slammers in a 90-39 thrashing, where Amy Kidner (16 points) helped to inflict yet another tough loss on the struggling Bunbury side.

The Slammers suffered their 11th straight defeat on Saturday night as they fell 87-57 to Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers.

Zoe Harper had 27 points to help the Tigers overcome the absence of West Coast Waves players Melissa Marsh and Jasmine Hooper and improve their win-loss record to 12-1.

Mandurah Magic continued their impressive run with an 82-70 victory against Perth Redbacks.

The third-placed Magic have won five of their last six games after Tarsha Fletcher (20 points) saw them past the Redbacks, who sit in eighth spot after suffering their third loss from four outings.

Total Connections Perry Lakes Hawks had to overturn a six-point final quarter deficit to beat Australian Central East Perth Eagles 70-68.

The Eagles led by as many as 13 at one stage but the Hawks came back through Belinda O'Halloran (26 points) to remain in second spot with their ninth win from 10 games.

Danielle Devenny top-scored with 23 points for East Perth, which fell to seventh spot with the loss.

Metropolis Fremantle Cockburn Cougars climbed up to fifth spot with their third win from four games, an 88-47 thrashing of Rockingham Flames.

Kara Hargreaves (24 points) helped Cockburn overcome the struggling Flames, who remain bottom of the ladder despite the best efforts of Jacinta Bourne, who had 22 points.
