Wolfpack Sign Wildcats Captain

The Wanneroo Wolves are delighted to announce the signing of Perth Wildcats Captain Brad Robbins for the remainder of the 2011 State basketball season.

Brad Robbins is widely acknowledged as one of the toughest and most experienced guards in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL).

Wanneroo Wolves men’s team head coach Ben Ettridge; “We have been given an amazing opportunity for the club to bring one of WA sports best leaders into our group.

A player of Brad Robbins ability and leadership compliments Greg Hire, Tony Pearman, Doug Gates and Damian Matacz.

Brad's professionalism and personality make him a genuine leader of men. He has been successful at every level he has played at. We look forward to having Brad around our younger guys; we hope that they can learn from him on and off the court about how to go about your preparation to be an elite player.

Brad brings added defensive toughness to our back court of Tony Pearman, Matt Schmechtig, Rhys Smyth and Seb Salinas who are already, in many people’s eyes, a great defensive group.

We look forward to seeing what the rest of the season holds for us, our team expectations do not change others outside of our inner sanctum and around the league may change, and we will be unwavering in the pursuit of our goals for season 2011".

Wanneroo SBL Director Matt Rushmere; "To have a professional leader such as Brad Robbins ask to join our club confirms to us, that the culture that has be created and the direction the club is moving in is the right one. We are very excited with what Brad will not only bring to our SBL program but to the development of our juniors also."

Brad brings to the Wolfpack a wealth of basketball experience accumulated over his 26 years.

Some of Brad’s achievements are;
