WSBL: The Run Home

With just one month left in the season, SBL.asn.au writer Jacob Kagi analyses each team's remaining fixtures and predicts where they will finish the home-and-away season.

1. Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers (15-2) - The Run Home: Cockburn (A), Rockingham (H), Perry Lakes (A), East Perth (A), Kalamunda (H). There are a few tough games in the final month for Willetton, particularly with the streak that sees them play Perry Lakes and East Perth consecutively. Should still finish first though. Predicted finish: 20-2, 1st.

2. Total Connections Perry Lakes Hawks (14-3) - The Run Home: Kalamunda (H), Perth (A), Rockingham (A), Willetton (H), Mandurah (A). The Hawks have three games they should win comfortably before as hard a finish to the season as you could imagine. Could finish first, but second is more likely. Predicted finish: 18-4, 2nd.

3. Mandurah Magic (12-5) - The Run Home: Perth (A), Kalamunda (H), Lakeside (A), Perry Lakes (H), Cockburn (A). Mandurah finishes the season with a pretty difficult stretch, but they should overcome that and ensure a place in the top four. Predicted finish: 16-6, 3rd.

4. Glasscraft Wanneroo Wolves (12-6) - The Run Home: East Perth (A), Southwest (H), Perth (H), Stirling (A). So much will come down to their game against East Perth, which will determine who holds the tiebreaker, and potentially which team has home court advantage for a quarter-final series between the two teams. Predicted finish: 15-7, 5th.

5. Australian Central East Perth Eagles (11-6) - The Run Home: Wanneroo (H), Kalamunda (H), Southwest (A), Willetton (H), Perth (A). The Eagles appear to be clicking at the right time, but must overcome Wanneroo and potentially Willetton too to make the top four. Predicted finish: 15-7, 4th.

6. Metropolis Fremantle Cockburn Cougars (10-8) - The Run Home: Willetton (H), Southwest (H), Kalamunda (A), Mandurah (H). Cockburn faces a tough finish to the season, but their two most difficult games are at Wally Hagan Stadium, where they're always tough. Predicted finish: 12-10, 6th.

7. Kalamunda Eastern Suns (8-7) - The Run Home: Perry Lakes (A), Lakeside (H), Mandurah (A), Stirling (H), East Perth (A), Cockburn (H), Willetton (A). Another team facing a tough remaining schedule, especially with their make-up game against Willetton. Should beat Lakeside and Stirling, which will be enough to make the finals. Predicted finish: 10-12, 7th.

8. Lakeside Lightning (7-10) - The Run Home: Rockingham (H), Kalamunda (A), Stirling (A), Mandurah (H), Southwest (A). Three wins will all but guarantee the Lightning a finals spot, and with games against the bottom three sides, they shouldn't have any problems. Predicted finish: 10-12, 8th.

9. Perth Redbacks (6-11) - The Run Home: Mandurah (H), Rockingham (A), Perry Lakes (H), Wanneroo (A), East Perth (H). Will have to improve dramatically to have any chance of making the eight, but with such a tough remaining schedule, it's unlikely they make it anyway. Predicted finish: 7-15, 9th.

10. Western Stainless Stirling Senators (5-13) - The Run Home: Southwest (A), Lakeside (H), Kalamunda (A), Wanneroo (H). Should beat Southwest and could upset the Lightning or Suns, but it's more likely that Stirling finishes with six wins. Predicted finish: 6-16, 10th.

11. Southwest Slammers (2-15) - The Run Home: Stirling (H), Wanneroo (A), Cockburn (A), East Perth (H), Lakeside (H). Southwest's only realistic chance of a third win comes in their next game, at home against Stirling. Predicted finish: 2-20, 11th.

12. Rockingham Flames (1-17) - The Run Home: Lakeside (A), Perth (H), Willetton (A), Perry Lakes (H). Rockingham finishes the season with four games against top eight sides, so it's unlikely they'll be able to win again. Predicted finish: 1-21, 12th.
