Three chalk up milestones

Tonight the State Basketball League will recognise the contirbutions of three players who have achieved key milestones. 

The milestones will all be celebrated at Wally Hagan Stadium tonight as the Cougars tackle the Magic in the last round of the regular season. 

Loyal Cougars Grant Davey and Player-Coach Fleur McIntyre will both be recognised for reaching their 250th games. 

Davey is in his eleventh season with the blue and gold, having started back in 1996. The Cougars guard was a member of the 1996 runners-up team at Cockburn that narrowly lost to the Slamers 105-96.

Throughout his 250 game career Davey averages 5.73 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists. 

Davey played his 250th game against the South West Slammers last Friday. 

McIntyre is in her 13th season as a player and second in charge of the team.

Having played all of her seasons at Cockburn, McIntyre has now led the Cougars to their first finals appearance since 2008. 

Throughout her career she averages 8.62 points and 5.8 rebounds. 

Mcintyre played her 250th game against the Lakeside Lightning on 25 June. 

The third milestone to be recognised is Kane Thompsons 200th game. 

The Mandurah guard began his career back in 2002 with the Slammers, where he played two seasons. 

Since 2004, Thompson has played eight seasons with the Mandurah Magic and will hit game number 200 tonight against the Cougars. 

Throughout his career Thompson averages 9.37 points.

The State Basketball League congratulates all three players on their achievements and contributions to the league.
