Country Getting it Done
The Redbacks family would like to extend our congratulations to Jess Hughes for being selected as the captain of the WA U18 State Country side.
The girl affectionately known as "country" has been an exciting and engaging personality at the club now for several years, since moving to Perth to further her basketball prospects.
With a ready smile and a great attitude toward her club and team mates, Jess has for the last three years embodied the on and off court values of the club. Those attributes have seen her continually improve as a player, culminating with this week's announcement.
To support Jess and the WA Country side, make sure you head down to the upcoming Under 18 National Tournament, being held at Western Australia's very own State Basketball Centre.
The future also looks bright for Jess as the youngest member of our Women's S.B.L. squad. Under the tutelage of new coach Glenn Ellis, she continues to extend herself on the court as she strives for success.
If you would like to support Jess and the Redbacks girls, then head down to the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre this Friday, 16th March for the S.B.L. home opener against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns. Tip-off for the women is 6.30pm and for the men 8.30pm.
