Cougars end Magic run from Mandurah (Saturday night wrap)

The Mandurah Magic ended their four game winning streak going down to the Cockburn Cougars by 40 points.

The Cougars triumphed 116-76 with the help of Wildcats development player Damien Scott who starred with 32 points, five rebounds three assists.

The Wanneroo Wolves took down the East Perth Eagles 110-91.

Coming back from last weeks loss hungry the Wolves were led by Damian Matacz with 28 points, six rebounds and one assist.

In a country showdown between the Goldfields Giants and the South West Slammers the Giants took down the Slammers 80-75 despite incredible offensive pressure from Slammers Carlos White with 37 points and ten rebounds.

The Stirling Senators grasped at their chance to make it in to a top eight position, taking down the Rockingham Flames 105-98.

The Senators triumphed in Jon Moons 200th SBL game putting on a strong shooting display in a close game.

The Perry Lakes Hawks defeated the Kalamunda Eastern Suns 96-93 for the Eastern Suns fifth consecutive loss of the season.

Hawks import Matt Rosinski was a dominant court presence with 29 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

The Perth Redbacks triumphed 96-78 over Geraldton in the Buccs first game of their road double.

In the women's league top of the ladder Wolves took down the Eagles 73-65 to secure top spot with Waves guard Nikita-Lee Martin scoring 21 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

A bottom of the ladder clash between the Magic and the Cougars left Mandurah victorious ending their seven game losing streak.

Both teams were in desperate need of a win but the Magic were too good on their home court winning 87-72 to extend the Cougars streak to seven losses.

The Eastern Suns defeated the Hawks 89-72 while the Senators took out the Flames 92-87 thanks to Lyndal Gardner with 30 points, five rebounds and five assists.
