Flames look to bounce back against Eagles (Round 8 women's preview)

The Rockingham Flames will be looking to get back on track on Saturday night when they face the East Perth Eagles in week eight women’s action.

The Flames dropped two close games last week after a strong two week period after the addition of import Emma Cannon, while the Eagles have largely struggled after making the grand final in 2011.

The Rockingham front court of import Emma Cannon and West Coast Waves player Kaye Tucker will play a crucial role against East Perth star Sam Norwood who has returned in recent weeks after the WNBL season.

Kalamunda Eastern Suns will travel to Willetton in good form, having won four of their past five games to move into fifth position on the standings.

The three-times defending champions will be a much tougher assignment for the young Eastern Suns team though and the Tigers will be looking for a win to stay in touch with the top four.

The Lakeside Lightning will travel to Mandurah on Saturday night to take on the Magic who won their first game last weekend against the bottom of the table Cockburn Cougars.

Lakeside on the other hand dropped their first game of the season last weekend against Willetton after having won their opening six games.

The Perry Lakes Hawks travel south to take on the South West Slammers who will be eager for a win after dropping their first game in week six and having a bye last weekend.

The Slammers will most likely be without their second import Kim Sitzman who is still waiting on immigration approval after arriving to replace the injured Rachele Kloke.

The winless Cockburn Cougars will be looking to get their first win of 2012 when they host the much improved Stirling Senators.

Stirling have added New Zealand international Karlene Kingi to their line-up and last weekend knocked off the more fancied Rockingham.

Stirling will be keen to pick up a win to avoid losing touch with the top eight too early in the season.
