Ryan Neill celebrates 450 games

Perth Redbacks guard Ryan Neill will hit the SBL court for the 450th time tonight as the Redbacks take on the Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre.

The guard is in his eleventh season with the Redbacks and his nineteenth season overall.

Neill first stepped on the court in 1994 with the Cockburn Cougars were he spent eight seasons and played 181 games.

In 2002 he joined the Redbacks where he has now played 268 games as of last night against Lakeside.

The 2004 league MVP has played in only one grand final in 19 seasons, back in 1998 when the Cougars went down to the South West Slammers 105-96.

Neill joins Greg Brown on 450 games and is now tied in second place on the all time games played list with only Troy Clarke (512) having played more.

There are few signs of Neill slowing down either, Neill averaged 20 points per game in 2010 & 2011 which he has only bettered in 2003 (21ppg) & 2004 (22ppg).

Over 448 games until this weekend Neill averages 15.96 points & 3.3 assists per game while shooting 43% from the field and 37% from the three point arc.

The State Basketball League congratulates Neill on his career so far and wishes him the best of luck in his milestone game.
