Wolves keep pressure on Lightning (Saturday SBL wrap)

The Wanneroo Wolves are one step closer to the top spot after smashing the South West Slammers 124-83.

The Wolves controlled the score board throughout the game showing no signs of weakness as they secured the 41 point victory.

Wolves import Jordan Wild (23 points) going head to head with Slammers Senario Hillman with 29 points and eight rebounds.

The Mandurah Magic have secured their place in the top four after taking down the Goldfields Giants 114-100.

The Magic's victory came down to superior shooting combined with dominant court presence from Thomas Remmerswaal (31 points, seven rebounds) and import Taylor Mullenax with 29 points and 13 rebounds.

The East Perth Eagles have put an end to the Cockburn Cougars three game winning streak defeating them 96-76.

The 20 point victory a reflection of the Eagles overall offensive game, shooting 44 percent more accurately from the three point line.

After Friday nights loss the Perth Redbacks bounced back to take down the Willetton Tigers 90-89.

After a neck and neck game the Redbacks snuck over the line with greater consistency from the field and the free throw line.

The Geraldton Buccaneers have finally ended their four game losing streak defeating the Stirling Senators 96-87.

A double-double from Senators import Michael Jones (26 points, 15 rebounds) taking on Geraldton guard Daniel Thomas with 30 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

In the women's league a top of the ladder clash saw current leaders the Wolves take down the Slammers 80-75.

Despite an incredible performance from Slammers Kim Sitzmann (33 points, eight rebounds) the Wolves dominant first quarter was enough to get them over the line.

In a battle for a top four position the Redbacks took down the Tigers 50-46 while the Eagles defeated the Cougars 84-64.
