Lightning on top, Eagles surprise Magic (Saturday night wrap)

The Lakeside Lightning struck again taking down the Geraldton Buccaneers 84-69.

The Lightning storm continues as they secured their 12th win of the season with 13 three pointers and 26 points from turnovers.

The Lightning are an all-round impenetrable force, Luke Payne (17 points) and Brad Jackson (14 points) dominating offensively while Jarrad Prue (13 points, 25 rebounds) with 17 defensive rebounds controlled the boards.

The Wanneroo Wolves are hungry for the top spot after securing their fourth consecutive win defeating the Goldfields Giants 99-90.

The Wolves tenth win of the season came on the back of stellar performances from Sebastion Salinas (25 points) and double-doubles from Jordan Wild (22 points, 11 rebounds) and Damian Matacz (30 points, 11 rebounds).

The tenth place East Perth Eagles continue to soar after annihilating the third place Mandurah Magic 121-69.

Eagle’s Drew Williamson (28 points) and Jarrod Balcombe (23 points) too much for the Magic, despite an impressive fight from Taylor Mullenax (30 points).

The Cockburn Cougars have taken down the Kalamunda Eastern Suns 119-90 with an incredible performance from Cougars Jeremiah Wilson with 37 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

Willetton Tigers were happy to get a strong win over the South West Slammers, prevailing 108-84 after two last minute losses last weekend.

The Perth Redbacks have defeated the Rockingham Flames 119-93 while the Stirling Senators got over the top of the Perry Lakes Hawks 91-81.

The dark horses triumphed with some big upsets in the women's league last night, the Tigers taking down the second placed Slammers 86-77.

The Flames securing a top eight position after defeating the third place Redbacks 55-51, thanks to a big game from Flames star Emma Cannon (23 points, eight rebounds).

Bottom team Cockburn have ended the Suns five game winning streak 84-74.

Cougars forward Stephanie Jones put in a stellar performance, finishing with an incredible 31 points and 11 rebounds.

The Hawks smashed the Senators 77-45 while a bottom four clash saw the Eagles take down the Magic 92-63.
