Wolves face testing double header (Round 11 women's preview)

Wanneroo Wolves will face a test to stay on top of the standings in week eleven action, taking on the Lakeside Lightning on the road on Friday night and then hosting the Rockingham Flames on Saturday.

The Wolves were on a four game streak before their bye last weekend and will be confident and well rested on Friday against the Lightning who have dropped three of their past five games.

On Saturday night the Wolves will need to keep a tight rein on Flames star Emma Cannon if they are to get over the top of the eight placed side, the star import is averaging nearly 26 points and 14 rebounds a game.

The second place South West Slammers host the bottom four Cockburn Cougars on Saturday night, the Slammers desperately needing to secure this victory to remain in second place on the ladder.

The Cougars will be looking for their third win of the season and despite not having gained a victory on the road they will be looking to strike the Slammers while they are venerable, having lost three of their last five games.

The sixth place Kalamunda Eastern Suns take on the Perth Redbacks in a Suns home game on Saturday night, both teams in great form having won four of their last five games.

In a battle for a top eight position the East Perth Eagles will host the seventh placed Perry Lakes Hawks on Friday night at Morley.

It will be tough competition for the ninth place Eagles going up against the Hawks with both teams having won three of their last five games, Perry Lakes needing to be in form having only won two of six games on the road.

The Hawks will then host the fifth place Willetton Tigers on Saturday night with the Tigers needing a win to stay in touch with the top four sides.
