Top of the table clash for men (Round 11 men's preview)

A highly anticipated top of the table clash is on the cards in round 11 of the men's State Basketball League with league number one the Lakeside Lightning and the second placed Wanneroo Wolves facing off on Friday night.

It's a vastly polarised weekend for the Wolves going head to head with the strongest team in the league, the Lightning on Friday night and then taking on bottom of the ladder Rockingham Flames in a Wolves home game on Saturday.

The Wolves go into the weekend having won their last four games and are also undefeated on the road, however it will be a tough battle as Lakeside have also won four of their last five games and are undefeated at home.

The Wolves will then take on the Flames who have lost the last four games and are yet to win away from home.

The third place Cockburn Cougars will play the thirteenth placed South West Slammers in a Slammers home game on Saturday night, Cougars hoping to secure their tenth win of the season while the Slammers are hoping to end their three game losing streak.

In a bid to remain in a top four position the Perth Redbacks take on the Kalamunda Eastern Suns in Kalamunda on Saturday night, the Redbacks are only in front on percentage and need to have a strong weekend to ensure their spot.

Kalamunda will be hoping replacement import Lee Roberts is cleared quickly by the immigration department as they look to continue their good form.

The Mandurah Magic will look to make the ascent into the top four on Saturday night when they make the long trip to Geraldton to take on the Buccaneers.

The Perry Lakes Hawks are looking to move into a top eight position going into the weekend, taking on the East Perth Eagles in an Eagles home game on Friday night and then hosting the Willetton Tigers on Saturday.

The Hawks have won an equal amount of games as the Tigers and the Eagles but East Perth are in form after a three game winning streak which will pose a big challenge for last year’s grand finalists.

The Goldfields Giants will host the Stirling Senators on Saturday night in an important game for the Giants to maintain touch with the top eight.
