Robbins leads Wolfpack to equal top (Round 11 men's wrap)

Wanneroo Wolves jumped into equal first place after welcoming Wildcats guard Brad Robbins into their line-up for the first time this season.

The Wolves had a phenomenal weekend with back to back victories taking down top of the ladder Lightning on Friday night and bottom of the ladder Rockingham Flames on Saturday.

Wanneroo secured their fifth consecutive victory defeating the Lightning 93-90, thanks to stellar games from Damian Matacz (24 points, 8 rebounds) and local Wildcat's product Greg Hire with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The Wolves were unstoppable smashing the Flames 133-97, securing their sixth consecutive win with double-double's from Wolves import Jordan Wild (27 points, 10 rebounds) and Damian Matacz (22 points, 11 rebounds).

The Cockburn Cougars defeated the South west Slammers 84-74 on Saturday night, Cougars forward Brian Carlwell was strong with 21 points as was guard Jeremiah Wilson, finishing with 20 points and 19 rebounds.

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns welcomed star import Lee Roberts after a last minute immigration clearance, however the Perth Redbacks hung on for a 106-103 victory to remain in fourth position.

Redbacks import Blake Bender stepped up with 25 points and seven rebounds while guard Joel Wagner had a strong all-round game with 22 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

The fifth place Mandurah Magic defeated the Geraldton Buccaneers 82-81 in a thrilling contest in Geraldton on Saturday night.

Buccs big man Morgan Sabia top scored with 24 points, however it was not enough to stop the Magic from bouncing back after last week’s loss with Andrew Bowman (18 points) and Thomas Remmerswaal (17 points) the stars.

The East Perth Eagles soared into sixth position after smashing the Perry Lakes Hawks 126-87 on Friday night.

Incredible performances from Eagles forward Tom Jervis (31 points) and NBL guard Drew Williamson (21 points) were too much for the Hawks who were led by reliable imports Shane Ross (22 points) and Matt Rosinski (21 points).

The Perry Lakes Hawks then defeated the eight place Willetton Tigers 95-90 on Saturday night with a more well-rounded performance.

The Hawks were led by junior & Wildcats development player Ben Purser (32 points, 12 rebounds), Matt Rosinski (26 points, ten assists) and Shane Ross with 23 points, 15 rebounds.

The Goldfields Giants defeated the Stirling Senators 98-96 with Giants Ty Harrelson (21 points, 12 rebounds) leading the way and import Darnell Dialls hitting the buzzer-beating shot.
