Lightning & Slammers extend lead on top (Saturday night wrap)

The Lakeside Lightning have destroyed bottom of the ladder Rockingham Flames 128-68 in a dominant display last night.

The Lightnings' 60 point victory was secured with stellar performances from import Ben Beran (25 points, eight rebounds), Luke Payne (22 points) and centre Jarrad Prue with ten points and 16 rebounds.

In a shock result the third placed Cockburn Cougars went down to the Goldfields Giants 83-64.

Double-doubles from Giants import Darnell Dialls (21 points, ten rebounds) and Dwayne Radcliffe with ten points and 13 rebounds were big factors in securing the Giants victory.

The Perth Redbacks have smashed the South West Slammers 112 -82 to continue their strong form.

Redbacks guard Jarrad Prior was dominant with 32 points, he was backed up by Michael Vigor with 23 points and eight rebounds..

The Willetton Tigers defeated the Geraldton Buccaneers 93-85, giving the Buccaneers a less than ideal start to their long weekend double header.

Tigers forward Robert Kampman led the way with 21 points and centre Ephrem Davis (16 points, 14 rebounds) provided suppport, the Buccaneers were led by Michael Lay (22 points), Aaron Ralph (22 points) and Morgan Sabia (21 points)

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns have taken down the Stirling Senators 108-104 on the back of former Senators import Lee Roberts who finished with 28 points and 19 rebounds for his new side.

In the women's league the top of the ladder Slammers took down the Redbacks 69-55, thanks to a double-double from Slammers Kim Sitzmann with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

The Flames defeated the Lightning 89-82 in double overtime with Flames Superstar Emma Cannon dominant again with 32 point and 19 rebounds whole Kaye Tucker almost finished with a triple double with 25 point, nine rebounds and nine assists.

The Suns took down the Senators 78-56 with a strong across the board offence from the Suns with four players getting double digits on the board.
