Lightning bounce back (Round 12 men's wrap)

The Lakeside Lightning bounced back from last weekend to beat East Perth Eagles on Friday night and smash Rockingham Flames on Saturday.

The Lightning ended the Eagles four game winning streak 110-75, Lakeside making 23 three pointers throughout the game to dominate the contest.

Lightning import Luke Payne was impressive with 20 points while Jarrad Prue chipped in with 17 defensive rebounds.

The Lightning took down the Flames 128-68 with solid performances from Lightning import Ben Beran (25 points) and Luke Payne (22 points), the Flames 60 point defeat was their sixth consecutive loss of the season.

The Wanneroo Wolves are on a seven game winning streak after taking down the Geraldton Buccaneers 109-74 on Sunday.

A solid performance from Wolves Jordan Wild with 23 points and 12 rebounds was the catalyst to send the Buccs home winless.

The Perth Redbacks took down the South West Slammers 112 -82 on Saturday night to jump into third place.

A concrete game from Redbacks guard Jarrad Prior (32 points) and centre Michael Vigor with 23 points and eight rebounds put the Redbacks in control.

The Cockburn Cougars have fallen into fourth place after going down to the Goldfields Giants 83-64 on the back of a double-double from Giants import Darnell Dialls, scoring 21 points and ten rebounds.

The Willetton Tigers kept their top four hopes alive with back to back victories against the fifth place Mandurah Magic on Friday night and the Geraldton Buccaneers on Saturday.

The Tigers took down the Magic 95-87, Tigers forward Robert Kampman led the way with 24 points and 11 rebounds while Mandurah were led by forward Taylor Mullenax (20 points) and veteran Aaron Trahair with 21 points.

The Tigers then defeated the Buccaneers 93-85, another stand out performance from Kampman who finished with 21 points.

It was a shocking weekend for the Stirling Senators going down to the Perry Lakes Hawks and the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

The Hawks defeated the Senators 85-83 on Friday night then the Suns took down the Senators 108-104, with a great game from Suns Lee Roberts with 28 points and 19 rebounds.

It was a steady weekend for the Suns, also taking down the Giants 104-98 on Sunday.
