Redbacks face big clash (Round 13 men's preview)

The Perth Redbacks jumped into third place last week but face a tough test in week thirteen men’s state basketball league when they host the Lakeside Lightning on Friday night.

The Redbacks have a strong 6-1 home record and are in excellent form having won the last four games and the Lightning will need to be at their best pick up a road win.

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns picked up a rare double header win last weekend, but they run into the second place Wanneroo Wolves this weekend in a tough encounter.

Former Stirling import Lee Roberts has been a great addition to the team, Roberts is averaging 24.7 points and 20.7 rebounds in his three games so far.

The Mandurah Magic face a big double header which will give them an opportunity to make it back into a top four position at the conclusion of the weekend.

The South West Slammers take on the Magic on Friday night in a Slammers home game then the Magic face the Redbacks on Saturday night at home.

The Rockingham Flames tough season looks set to continue this weekend with back to back games against two top eight sides.

On Friday night the Flames play the fourth place Cockburn Cougars, they then hit the road to take on the sixth place Willetton Tigers on Saturday.

The Goldfields Giants face an opportunity for redemption against the Perry Lakes Hawks, the last time the two sides met the Hawks chased down a 25 point lead to steal an overtime win at home.

A home crowd advantage could get the Giants over the line though with Perry Lakes winning just two out of eight games on the road.

The Geraldton Buccaneers take on the East Perth Eagles at home and will be looking to get their season back on track to ensure they don’t miss the finals for a second straight year.

The Slammers face a double header weekend taking on the Magic on Friday night and then the Stirling Senators in a Senators home game on Saturday.
