Kalamunda, Willetton set for showdown (Round 18 women's preview)

A top four clash will go a long way to deciding the fate of the fourth place Kalamunda Eastern Suns and the second place Willetton Tigers in this weekends round of the women's State Basketball League.

With plenty of congestion from positions two to seven the clash could be important for both sides to try and break away from the pack and get the all-important head-to-head result in case of tie breakers.

The Tigers are on a four game winning streak and are one of the in-form teams, however the Eastern Suns have also won four of their last five games and should be well rested after last weekends bye.

Rockingham Flames face a double header this weekend, taking on bottom of the ladder Mandurah Magic on Friday night and then taking on the fifth place Perth Redbacks on Saturday.

The Flames take on their neighbours, Mandurah, in Rockingham and will be confident of extending their incredible eight game winning streak whilst pushing for second place on the standings.

Saturday night will be more difficult for the Flames when they face the Redbacks away, Perth are on a two game losing streak and will need to be at their best if they are to halt the Flames run.

Lakeside Lightning have a rare home double header this weekend when they take on the South West Slammers on Friday night and then the Stirling Senators on Saturday.

South West Slammers will be without Kim Sitzman after the star import injured her ankle in last weekends win over Perry Lakes and the Lightning will look to take advantage in front of their home crowd.

The Lightning round out the double header against the eleventh placed Stirling Senators who, despite showing some positive signs, have been inconsistent so far this season.

Wanneroo Wolves halted a six game losing streak with two wins last weekend and they will be looking to continue that form this weekend against the Perry Lakes Hawks who have dropped four of their past five games.

East Perth Eagles will be looking to pick up a much needed win when they face the bottom of the ladder Mandurah Magic, the Eagles have dropped four of their past five games and are just hanging on to the final play-off position.
