Lightning rebound with win (Friday night wrap)

Lakeside Lightning have bounced back from last weeks loss to inflict a 141-97 defeat on the South West Slammers on Friday night.

Lakeside were still without injured imports Luke Payne & Ben Beran, however their young stars stepped up.

The Lightning were led by Ryan Sofoulis (24 points, six rebounds, six assists), Patrick Banks (20 points), Brad Jackson (20 points), Jarrad Prue (13 points, 21 rebounds) while Simon Cochrane had an impressive triple double with 18 points, 13 assists and 10 steals. 

Senario Hillman led the Slammers with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assist.

Mandurah Magic extended their winning streak to four after defeating cross-town rivals Rockingham Flames 106-83 for the Flames 14th consecutive loss this season.

Mandurah charged out of the gates with a solid 32-13 point first quarter and continued the attack, winning the second and third periods to cruise to victory.

The Magic was led to victory by Thomas Remmerswaal who worked hard to finish with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Taylor Mullenax has an incredible 36 points and 14 rebounds.

Lakeside caused an upset in the womens league taking down top of the ladder SouthWest 74-67, ending the Slammers seven game winning streak.

The Lightning were led by Claire Johnson (16 points), Courtney Brynes (13 points, five rebounds) and Emily Fielding (17 points, ten rebounds).

The Slammers missed star Kim Sitzman after the import injured her ankle in last weeks victory over the Perry Lakes Hawks.

The Flames continue to rise securing their ninth consecutive win after defeating bottom of the ladder Magic 78-59.

Rockingham were led to victory by a stand out performance from Emma Cannon who finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Tarsha Fletcher was the Magics best with 13 point and nine rebounds.
