Eagles send message heading into finals (Saturday night wrap)

East Perth Eagles have shown the league their credentials heading into finals after taking down the Mandurah Magic 114-100.

The Eagles extended their winning streak to seven on the back of an incredible performance by Jarrod Balcombe who finished with 29 points and 14 rebounds while Tom Jervis chipped in with 22 points.

Mandurahs Thomas Remmerswaal was a stand out with 36 points and 14 rebounds for the home side.

Lakeside Lightning capped off their double header with a 88-82 win over the Stirling Senators 88-82, the home side was led to victory by Ryan Sofoulis (18 points) and Jarrad Prue with( 16 points, 22 rebounds).

Wanneroo Wolves have extended their winning streak to 15 after taking down the Perry Lakes Hawks 102-85.

The Wolves were led by Jordan Wild with 24 points and 15 rebounds while Shane Ross had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks.

The Perth Redbacks have convincingly defeated Rockingham Flames 124-83, the Redbacks were led by Blake Bender who had a massive 39 points and 14 rebounds.

Goldfields Giants have kept their finals hopes alive after taking down the South West Slammers 106-99, Ty Harrelson had 25 points fir the Giants and was supported by forward Dwayne Radcliffe with 18 points.

Helping the Giants cause, the Kalamunda Eastern Suns pulled off a 95-90 victory over the Willetton Tigers to knock the Tigers out of the top eight before tomorrow's crucial game between the Tigers and Giants.

Star import Lee Roberts led the Eastern Suns charge finishing with 31 points and 21 rebounds for the home side, while the Robert Kampman was the Tigers best with 22 points and 9 rebounds.

Geraldton Buccaneers pulled off a surprise 94-86 win over the third place Cockburn Cougars, the Buccaneers Michael Lay led the way with 26 points with fellow guard Daniel Thomas finishing with 24 points.

The visitors were led by import Jeremiah Wilson who had a massive 31 points and 19 rebounds.

In the women's league the Wolves continue to regain their form after taking down the Hawks 69-53.

A devastating blow for the fourth place Eastern Suns going down to the second place Tigers 71-54, a solid performance from Tigers guard Jasmine Hooper with 25 points.

The Flames took down an undermanned Redbacks 86-60, the Flames led by Kaye Tucker with 33 points while Lakeside have defeated the Senators 58-52 and the Eagles have defeated the Magic 83-57.
