Eagles move to semi-finals (Saturday night wrap)

The East Perth Eagles have moved into the semi-finals with a hard fought 94-79 victory over the Mandurah Magic.

Mandurah took the series lead last weekend, however East Perth forced the game into a decider after an overtime win on Friday night.

Former Wildcat Drew Williamson starred with 31 points, while dominant big man Tom Jervis chipped in with 13 points and 18 rebounds.

Mandurah's were led by Thomas Remmerswaal who had 21 points and Taylor Mullenax with 22 points and ten rebounds.

The Eagles will face the Wanneroo Wolves who wrapped up their series 2-0 with a dominant 105-69 win over the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

Damian Matacz led the defending champions with 26 points and eight rebounds with sharp-shooting guard Seb Salinas putting up 21 points.

On the other half of the draw the Cockburn Cougars have soared into the semi-finals after defeating the Perth Redbacks 114-79 to sweep their series 2-0.

Jeremiah Wilson was a standout for the Cougars with 32 points and 19 rebounds, fellow import Brian Carlwell was also strong with 26 points and 19 rebounds.

Shooting guard Jarrad Prior top scored for his side with 29 points, in support Blake Bender had 21 points and seven rebounds.

The Cougars will play cross-town rivals the Lakeside Lightning who advanced after defeating the Goldfields Giants 90-87 to claim the series 2-0.

The Lightning were led by imports Ben Beran (28 points, 11 rebounds) and Luke Payne (24 points), while centre Jarrad Prue finished with 17 points and 23 rebounds.

Giants guard Ty Harrelson was strong with 26 points to lead the visitors who pushed Lakeside right down to the wire.

In the women's league the Willetton Tigers are through to the semi-finals, completing a 2-1 series victory with a 62-54 win in the deciding game three.

The Tigers were led to victory by Jasmine Hooper with 20 points and ten rebounds, Courtney Hargreaves was also solid with 13 points.

Their semi-final opponents will be the South West Slammers who wrapped up their series with the Perth Redbacks in two games on Friday night.

Wanneroo secured the first playoff spot on the other half of the draw after taking down the Eagles 73-63, wrapping up their series 2-0.

West Coast Waves guard Shani Amos was the Wolves best with 25 points and five rebounds, while Sam Norwood stood tall for the Eagles with 21 points and eight rebounds.

Rockingham Flames secured their semi-finals spot with a 88-79 game three victory over Kalamunda who won game one last weekend.

Emma Cannon dominated with 35 points and 26 rebounds for the Flames, while Adrienne Jones fought hard with 31 points and nine rebounds.
