The Wanneroo Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Vlad Alava as Head Coach of the Wolves WSBL team for 3 seasons.

"Following the announcement that Craig Friday was standing down, we identified that we had big shoes to fill for the WSBL program", said Ryan Hunter, President of Wanneroo Basketball Association.

"With so many quality coaches positions being advertised this offseason, we knew that the ability to attract a quality coach would be tough."

"During our advertising period, we headhunted coaches who we believed would complement our program, and fit within the Wolfpack culture".

"Whilst Vlad had planned to take a break from coaching within the WSBL, we are pleased that the opportunity to coach the Wolves playing group was an attractive proposition for Vlad", said Hunter.

Alava brings a wealth of experience to the Wolfpack, having significant experience in the eastern states, WSBL as former head coach of the Stirling Senators, and in the WNBL with the Sydney Uni Flames and the Perth Lynx/West Coast Waves.

"I am looking forward to working with this talented group moving forward, and to providing each player with opportunities to develop their game", Alava said.

"I am keen to get into the Wolfpack culture, and work together to deliver a championship in the coming years".

The Wannneroo Basketball Association looks forward to welcoming Vlad to the club and to the exciting times ahead, both on the floor and off the floor.
