Week Nine 'Kickz 101 Perth' Newcomer of the Week
Australian Belt Scrapers Wanneroo Wolves rising star Trian Iliadis has taken out his second weekly nomination for the 2013 SBL Season after being named the Week Nine ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Men’s Newcomer of the Week.
Iliadis was simply outstanding for Wanneroo over the weekend as he filled the stats sheet in both games to see his team go 2-0 in their tough double-header.
Iliadis top scored for the Wolves on Friday night With 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists leading his team to a 104-82 victory over Rockingham.
Backing up that performance, Wanneroo defeated Willetton on Saturday night 112 to 105 with Iliadis a heavy contributor again collecting 22 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.
Exciting Lakeside Lightning prospect and 2012/13 WNBL West Coast Waves academy member Ashleigh Grant has taken out the Week Nine ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Women’s Newcomer of the Week award.
Lightning Head Coach Darren Nash subbed on Grant in-front of the home crowd on Saturday night and she did not disappoint knocking down eight from nine shots to finish with 17 points and 2 rebounds in just 10 minutes of game time.
At already 187cm tall and turning just sixteen this week, it is exciting times for Lakeside fans as Grant looks certain to be a future star of the Women’s SBL.
Both Iliadis and Grant are now in contention for the monthly award where the winner of a facebook poll receives a pair of shoes of their choice thanks to Kickz101 Perth.
