Week Ten Players of the Week

Collie Crane Hire South West Slammers 2012 All-Star Ty Harrelson has taken out his third Player of the Week award after being announced the top player in the Men’s SBL for Week Ten.

Harrelson has been in scintillating form in 2013, thriving at his new club with the added responsibility of being a Player/Coach.

On Saturday night the Slammers travelled to Warwick Leisure Centre to take on the Senators where Harrelson put on a brilliant all-round display to lead the Slammers to an eight point victory finishing with 39 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists, including just one turnover in forty-six minutes of action.

Other considerations for the award included Justin Cecil (Lakeside), Luke Nevill (Kalamunda), Brian Carlwell (Cockburn), Jamahr Warren (South West), Steve Bennett (Rockingham), Seb Salinas (Wanneroo), Taylor Mullenax (Mandurah), Jordan Wild (Stirling), Cory Cooperwood (Stirling), Michael Vigor (Perth), Brandon Adams (Willetton), Markhuri Sanders-Frison (Goldfields), Jaycen Herring (Goldfields), Tom Jervis (East Perth), Taylor Land (Mandurah) and Trent Gerovich (Rockingham).

Rockingham Flames scoring machine Samantha Whitcomb has taken out the Week Ten Women’s SBL Player of the Week award.

Having already been announced the week six Player of the Week, leading the WSBL in points per game (26.5) and steals per game (3.8) with her team sitting on top of the ladder after nine straight wins, it’s safe to say Samantha Whitcomb is an outright superstar of the Women’s SBL.

Whitcomb continued her impressive form when the Flames took on the highly rated Kalamunda Eastern Suns in Rockingham on Saturday night.

The Suns put in a brave fight however Whitcomb single handily took the young team apart to finish with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals to guide the Flames to an eleven point victory 75-64.

Other considerations for the award included Marita Payne (Perth), Emma Pass (Cockburn), Amber Land (Stirling), Briana Klasztorny (Mandurah), Chelsea Burns (Wanneroo), Kim Sitzman (South West), Rachel Lisch (Perth), Stephanie Jones (Cockburn), Courtney Byrnes (Lakeside) and Belinda Mayger (Perry Lakes).
