Week Eleven SBL Players of the Week

Stirling Senators star recruit Jordan Wild has been named the Week Eleven Men’s SBL Player of the Week.

Wild has been one of the shining lights for the Senators this season averaging twenty-two points and twelve rebounds per game.

On Saturday night the Senators had their work cut out for them as they took on Australian Boomer Luke Neville and the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

Wild put in a colossal performance as he worked to keep the Senators in the game which included a staggering 29 points, 24 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals before his team went down 108-89.

Other considerations for the weekly award include Jamahr Warren (South West), Steven Bennett (Rockingham), Gavin Field (Cockburn), Ty Harrelson (South West), Joel Wagner (Perth), Carter Cook (Geraldton), Jaycen Herring (Goldfields), Louis Timms (Kalamunda) amd Sebestian Salinas (Wanneroo).

The Women’s Week Eleven Player of the Week has been awarded to 2012 WSBL All-Star, Cockburn Cougars import Stephanie Jones.

When Jones is on her game she is an unstoppable force. East Perth found this out at home on Saturday night when she single-handedly took them apart to lead the Cougars to a twenty-one point win finishing with 27 points and 15 rebounds.

Jones is one of the most damaging offensive weapons in the Women’s SBL and if she continues the form that has her sitting second in the league for points scored, Cockburn will be looking to go deep into the post season.

Other considerations for the award included Lyndal Gardner (Stirling), Shani Amos (Wanneroo), Antonio Edmondson (Willetton), Lisa Wallbutton (Willetton), Marita Payne (Perth), Krystal Stoneking (Lakeside), Kimberly Sitzmann (South West), Ajay Jones (Kalamunda) and Natalie Burton (Perry Lakes).
