Wolves, Eagles bounce back (Sunday Wrap)

Wanneroo and East Perth's men's SBL teams hit back from Saturday night losses to record victories on Sunday afternoon with the Wolves' women's team also downing the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

The East Perth Eagles bounced back from a loss to the Perth Redbacks on Saturday with a 108-95 victory over the Goldfields Giants at home on Sunday.

Drew Williamson found some strong form for the Eagles with 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. Sunday Dech had 19 points, Michael Jones 18, Austin Kisselev 10 and Joe-Alan Tupaea 10. Big man Tom Jervis had nine points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Matthew Leslie finished with 26 points and six rebounds for the Giants with Jaycen Herring adding 24 points, six rebounds and four assists. Dwayne Radcliffe had 12 points and nine rebounds, and Kyle Keirnan 10 points.

The Wanneroo Wolves also bounced back from losing to Cockburn on Saturday night to beat the Kalamunda Eastern Suns 100-96.

Rob Huntington finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolfpack with Damian Matacz also adding 23 points, seven boards and seven assists. Trian Iliadis added in 19 points, nine boards and four assists with Seb Salinas also having 16 points, 10 boards and eight assists.

The Suns welcomed back centre Luke Nevill from his Australian Boomers duties and he was a dominant presence finishing with 40 points and 20 rebounds.

Ben Smith also had 15 points and eight boards for Kalamunda with Russell Haxby adding nine points and Louis Timms eight.

The Wanneroo Wolves women's team beat the Kalamunda Eastern Suns on Sunday afternoon thanks to a 33-19 second half.

Casey Lockwood led the way for Wanneroo with 20 points and six rebounds with Nikita-Lee Martin adding 15 points to go with five rebounds. Shani Amos also had 13 points and six boards.

Jennie Rintala finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Suns with Adrienne Jones adding 12 and Racehl Muenggenborg 11.
