Week Fifteen 'Kickz101 Perth' Newcomers of the Week

The Week Fifteen ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Women’s Newcomer of the Week has been awarded to Bank of Queensland Perth Redbacks young gun Gabrielle O’Sullivan.

With star guard Rachel Lisch having departed from the Redbacks earlier this month to join husband Kevin oversees, coach Narelle Henry is looking to her younger guard in O’Sullivan to step up and fill the void.

O’Sullivan did not let her coach down on Saturday night putting together a quality shooting performance, knocking down five from six including two-from-two beyond the arc to finish with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals in just nineteen minutes of game time, as Perth ran away victorious 72-42 over the struggling East Perth Eagles.

As the Redbacks continue to push for the top eight, fans will be hoping for more performances like this by their younger players O’Sullivan and Jakens to back up the likes of SBL stars, Payne and Fletcher.

Southlands Shopping Centre Willetton Tigers guard Mitchell Clarke has been announced the Week Fifteen ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Men’s Newcomer of the Week.

Mitchell Clarke returned home earlier this month after his time in the US playing with Gillette College in the NJCAA since 2011 to re-sign with the Tigers.

Despite going down to the Flames on Saturday night 110-95, Willetton can take confidence from Clarke’s solid performance as he recorded 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in just twenty-seven minutes of game time.

At just twenty years-of-age, Clarke has already represented WA on three occasions at a National level, been a part Willetton’s SBL championship winning team in 2010 and plied his trade playing in the US.

Mitchell Clarke is definitely one name to keep your eye on as a future elite star of the SBL.

Clarke and O’Sullivan are now in contention for the monthly award where the winner of a facebook poll receives a pair of shoes of their choice thanks to Kickz101 Perth.
