Berryman steps down as Eagles WSBL head coach

East Perth District Basketball Association (EPDBA) advises that Aaron Berryman has chosen to step down from the Women’s State Basketball League Head Coach position for the Toll Ipec Lady Eagles.

“East Perth Eagles thanks Aaron for his contribution in the Women’s Program both at the WSBL and WABL level at East Perth where he focused on developing the young talent that East Perth has on its roster as well as re-establishing the Girls Development Sessions held over the recent summer.” EPDBA’s Chairman Anthony Fletcher said.

Aaron is deciding whether he will continue in his assistant role with the Men’s State Basketball League Team, where for the past two years he and Head coach Adam Forde have established a successful working relationship that has generated sustained success, including a berth in last year’s Men’s Grand Final.

EPDBA is pleased to announce that current Assistant Coaches Kate Thompson and Bill Edwards have agreed to step in and coach the Lady Eagles for the remainder of the season.

The East Perth District Basketball Association will be seeking expressions of interest at the end of the 2013 season for the position of Women’s SBL coach for the 2014 SBL season.  For those that may be interested in the position, do not hesitate to contact EPDBA’s Chairman, Anthony Fletcher on 0438 884 000 for a confidential discussion.

We wish Kate and Bill all the best for the remainder of the season as they continue to develop the women’s program at East Perth.
